Virtual tours and local SEO: getting found in Google
6 minutes read
Local SEO is about being found the moment someone nearby searches for what you offer — "coffee bar near me", "estate agent Eindhoven", "dentist open now". Google decides that order partly on relevance and distance, but also on how complete and active your business profile is. A virtual tour is one of the few parts of that profile most of your competitors still haven't filled in.
More time on your profile is a stronger signal
When someone opens your business profile and clicks away a few seconds later, Google reads that as "not what I was looking for". If that person stays and explores a 360° tour, the opposite happens. That extra attention — how often your photos and tour get viewed, how long people linger — feeds into how often your profile is shown.
Trust before anyone calls or visits
A tour takes the surprise out of a first visit. People see the space, the atmosphere, how big it really is and what it looks like. That lowers the barrier to getting in touch, and the people who do are a better fit. Fewer appointments that lead nowhere, better reviews afterwards.
What you get from it and how to measure it
You don't have to arrange that placement yourself: if you'd like, we publish the same 360° captures directly to your Google Business Profile too. That way the tour lives both on your own website and on Google Maps, with no separate setup on your end.
Your Google Business Profile and Google Analytics show how many people open the tour, click through to your site, call, or ask for directions. Put the tour on your own website too and the same effect works there: visitors stay longer, which helps your organic rankings. Curious what it costs for your location?
