How to prepare your business for a 360° photoshoot
4 minute read
A 360° camera sees everything — that's exactly why it works so well, but it also means a messy corner or a misplaced trash can gets captured just as clearly as everything else. With a little preparation beforehand, the shoot day itself goes smoothly and you get the most out of the result.
Tidy up and ensure good lighting
Because the camera captures a full 360° around itself, there's no "invisible corner" to hide clutter in like with a regular photo. Walk through the space beforehand as if you were a visitor: is everything where it should be? Daylight — or consistent artificial lighting without harsh backlit spots — also makes a noticeable difference in the final result.
Think ahead about the walking route
Which spaces do you want visitors to be able to view, and in what order tells the best story about your business? A short list of desired capture points beforehand saves time on the day itself and ensures we don't miss anything important to you.
People or movement in frame?
That's possible, but it requires a bit more direction: moving people can appear blurry or doubled in a 360° shot. If you deliberately want to show people — employees at work, for example — let us know in advance so we can account for that while shooting.
How long does a shoot day take?
That mainly depends on the number of capture points: a compact space with ten points is usually done in a few hours, a larger building with thirty or more points takes a full day. We coordinate this with you beforehand, so you know what to expect.
What happens after the shoot day?
After the photography comes editing: the capture points are linked into a navigable tour, hotspots are added, and the navigation is styled in your branding. Usually within a week of the shoot day you receive the ready-to-use tour, ready to place on your own website.
